This article explains how to resolve connection issues with Deeper Quest or Deeper Spark – whether you cannot connect to its Wi-Fi network or the Fish Deeper app does not recognize the device.
Correct Connection Sequence
Follow this sequence to ensure a proper connection:
Turn on the Deeper Quest boat and the Remote Controller. For Deeper Spark, turn on the Spark boat. If you are using the Spark Remote Controller, turn it on as well and make sure it is paired with the boat.
Open Wi-Fi Connections on your smartphone and connect to the Deeper Quest or Deeper Spark network (e.g., Deeper_Quest_XXXX or Deeper_Spark_XXXX). a. If prompted, select “Always connect” even if there is no internet.
Open the Fish Deeper app and grant any required permissions (Location, Wi-Fi, etc.).
The app should automatically connect to your Deeper Quest or Deeper Spark.
Issue 1: Cannot Connect to Deeper Quest or Deeper Spark Wi-Fi
Check Device Power
Ensure the Deeper Quest and the Remote Controller or Deeper Spark is turned on and sufficiently charged. A low battery may prevent the Wi-Fi network from appearing.
If using the Spark Remote Controller, make sure it is also turned on.
Forget and Reconnect
If the connection fails:
Go to Wi-Fi Connections of your phone/tablet
Select the Deeper Quest or Deeper Spark network
Tap “Forget” or “Remove”
Restart your phone or tablet
Reconnect again
Disable Other Devices
Ensure that other smartphones or tablets previously connected to the Quest or Spark have their Wi-Fi turned off.
Only one device can connect at a time. Other devices may automatically reconnect and “steal” the connection.
Restart Devices
Turn off Wi-Fi on your phone, then turn it back on
Restart the Deeper Quest or Deeper Spark
Issue 2: App Does Not Connect (Wi-Fi Connected)
Follow these steps in sequence:
Make sure the Fish Deeper app is updated to the latest version.

Restart your smartphone or tablet.
Turn on the Deeper Quest boat and the Remote Controller. For Deeper Spark, turn on the Spark boat. If you are using the Spark Remote Controller, turn it on as well and make sure it is paired with the boat.
Go back to Wi-Fi settings, locate the Deeper Quest or Deeper Spark network, and connect to it. If prompted, select “Always connect” even if there is no internet.
Open the Fish Deeper app and grant any permissions it requests (Location, Wi-Fi, etc.).
The app should now connect automatically.
If the App Still Does Not Connect
Go to your phone’s App Settings → find the Fish Deeper app → open Permissions
Ensure that Location and Wi-Fi permissions are enabled
Additional Note. If a VPN is enabled on your device, it may interfere with the connection. Disable the VPN and try again.
