This guide explains the layout of the Deeper Quest controller, including all buttons, indicators, and the functionality of programmable buttons A and B.
Controller Buttons and Indicators
Front Side Controls
Back Hopper Button. Opens the rear hopper to release bait.
Left Hopper Button. Opens the left-side hopper.
Autopilot Status Light. Indicates the status of Autopilot (active, paused, etc.).
Quest Connection Status Light. Shows the connection status between the controller and the boat.
Quest Battery Status Light. Displays the battery level of the Deeper Quest.
Controller Battery Status Light. Indicates the controller’s battery level.
Right Hopper Button. Opens the right-side hopper.
Main Control Area
Joystick (center). Used for manual navigation and steering of the boat. Any manual input will override automated actions (e.g., Autopilot or Go Straight).
Press and hold the joystick button to automatically return the Quest to Home Position.
Rear and Side Controls
Programmable Button “B”. Can be configured in the Fish Deeper app to perform specific actions for faster control.
Programmable Button “A”. Can be configured in the Fish Deeper app to perform specific actions for faster control.
On/Off Button. Powers the controller on or off.
Other Components
Belt Attachment Hole. Used to attach the controller to a belt or strap.
Adapter Fixing Hole. Mounting point for accessories (e.g., phone holder).
Controller Charging Cable Port. Used to charge the controller.
Foldable Antenna. Ensures communication between the controller and the Deeper Quest. Should always be kept in a vertical position during use.
Programmable Buttons A and B
Buttons A and B can be configured in the Fish Deeper app to perform specific actions for faster control.
You can access button configuration menu via Quest control dashboard:
Available Functions
Repeat Mission. Repeats the last Autopilot mission.
Resume Mission. Resumes a paused Autopilot mission.
Stealth Mode. Turns off LED lights and reduces boat speed for quieter operation.
Side Hoppers. Opens both side hoppers simultaneously.
All Hoppers. Opens all hoppers at once.
Save Spot. Saves the current boat location as a Mark (spot) on the map.
Go Straight. Makes the boat move in a straight line automatically.
Any manual joystick input cancels this action
Starting an Autopilot mission also cancels this mode
Notes on Usage
Programmable buttons allow quick access to frequently used actions without using the app
Manual control always overrides automated functions for safety and control
If you change your remote controller, you do not need to reprogram the A and B buttons. The button settings are stored in the Deeper Quest and will automatically transfer to the new controller.
Controller LED Indicators
The Deeper Quest controller uses LED indicators to display battery status and connection status. Understanding these signals helps you quickly assess device condition during use.
Battery Status Indicators
The controller displays battery levels using color-coded LED lights.
Charging Indicator (Blinking LEDs):
Green (100%–25%). Battery level is sufficient
Yellow (25%–10%). Battery level is low
Red (10%–0%). Battery is critically low and requires charging
During charging, the LEDs will blink, indicating that the charging process is active.
Battery State (Solid LED):
Green (100%–25%) – Normal battery level
Yellow (25%–10%) – Low battery
Red (10%–0%) – Critical battery level
Connection Status Indicators
The controller also uses LED lights to show connection status with the Deeper Quest.
Blinking LED (Connecting / Disconnecting)
Green blinking – Connecting or reconnecting to the Quest
Red blinking – Connection issue or interruption
Solid LED (Connection State)
Green (solid) – Stable connection established
Yellow (solid) – Weak connection
Red (blinking or solid) – Emergency or lost connection
