Deeper Quest Device Setup Guide

This step-by-step guide will help you quickly set up and start using your Deeper Quest. You will learn how to prepare the device, connect it to your smartphone, update firmware, and get ready for your first fishing session.

Step 1. Charge Your Deeper Quest And Remote Controller

  1. Connect your Deeper Quest to a USB power source using the provided cable.

  1. Connect your Remote Controller to a USB power source in your Quest boat, or any other USB power source.

  1. Wait until the device is fully charged - the LED indicators on both batteries of the Quest will show when charging is complete.

Step 2. Download Offline Maps (Recommended)

  1. Open the Fish Deeper app while connected to your home Wi-Fi (not the Quest Wi-Fi).

  1. Open the Main menu (left side of the screen).

  1. Go to Offline Maps → New Map.

  1. Select and download the area where you plan to fish.

Tip: Downloading maps in advance ensures smooth mapping experience.

Step 3. Power On and Connect to Deeper Quest

  1. Turn on the Deeper Quest boat and the remote controller (this can be done out of water).

  1. On your smartphone, open Wi-Fi settings and connect to the Deeper Quest Wi-Fi network. If prompted by your phone, select “Always connect”.

  1. Open the Fish Deeper app and grant any required permissions (Location, Wi-Fi, etc.). It will then connect to your Quest.

Note: When connecting to your Deeper Quest for the first time, the Fish Deeper app will automatically check for and install firmware updates.

  • Firmware updates must be performed while the Quest is out of water

  • If no update starts, your device already has the latest firmware

Important tips

  • Make sure both batteries are properly seated in their slots. Sometimes a gentle wiggle is needed for them to dip in properly.

  • Ensure both battery lids are tightly screwed and sealed before usage.

  • The Deeper Quest remote controller is not waterproof - it is only splash-resistant. Do not expose it to heavy rain, submerge it in water, or leave it in a very damp environment.
